February 2016 - Lymphoedema Management Training
The Trust has recently funded two lymphoedema nurses' training courses. The first, an update course for Sara Percival who we have been pleased to support since the early days of Nancy's Trust. Sara used to be based at the St Helena Hospice in Colchester with the North Essex Lymphoedema Service but after recent changes within the NHS that service is provided by ACE, Anglian Community Enterprise, on behalf of the NE Essex CCG. Sara is still based in Colchester but provides the service to patients in other clinics, including Tendring, in North Essex.
The Trust is also funding a full set of lymphoedema management courses later in the year for Kate John, a health practitioner working out of the Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge. She and her hospice are very keen to expand her skills into areas that her colleagues are already using and through that the hospice will be able to offer an improved and more comprehensive lymphoedema service to its patients. We look forward to hearing of Kate's progress in due course.
